OUR STORY

The beginnings of our organizations started 60+ years ago and we would love to tell you about it some time, but Design Ohio is focused on the future. 

You may be asking “who or what is Design Ohio”. Design Ohio is the new name of an organization started over 60 years ago with a clear purpose of bringing together people in the construction industry.

We have experienced a decline in trade groups as the push for technology has grown. The downside is we are losing the basic human connection. We want to look you in the eye, shake your hand, and be a group that builds trust back into the industry. “Zoom” calls have their place and are used at our meeting for members who cannot attend in person.

Our intent is clear “to be local” and not be directed by anyone other than our members. The local organization is based in Columbus, Ohio, and many of you have attended our very well-known events. We would also like to open the door to you, and ask “What do you want from your local organization?” We are planning monthly meetings with HSW accredited presentations, local trade show, site tours, golf outings, certification preparation, family events and more. Our purpose is “to be local” and the sharing of knowledge in the construction Industry.  

You will get out of Design Ohio what you put into it. So, check us out, come to a meeting, meet the board, and ask how you can get involved.
